WHO WE HELP

Who We Help With Family Law Mediation

Every mediation is different. We represent clients across a wide range of situations, always with the same goal: a stable, workable outcome.

  • Spouses who want to settle a divorce without a contested trial
  • Parents building a custody and parenting time agreement together
  • Couples dividing property, retirement accounts, and debts
  • Former partners who need an existing order modified by agreement
  • Parties ordered by the court to attend mediation before a hearing
  • Attorneys who need an experienced mediator for their clients

A mediated agreement is almost always more stable and less stressful than a judge-imposed order. Our attorneys negotiate firmly at the table, and litigate when your situation calls for it.

Custody & Parenting Time

We help you build a parenting plan and time-sharing schedule centered on your children’s best interests.

⚖️

Support & Ongoing Costs

Child support follows Indiana’s guidelines, but mediation can settle extras like insurance, activities, and college contributions.

Indiana Law & Local Experience

Mediation Under Indiana Law

Indiana courts favor settlement, and many family law cases are ordered to mediation before a final hearing. A neutral, registered mediator guides the discussion but never decides the case for you.

Whatever is said in mediation stays confidential, and nothing binds you until it is reduced to writing and signed. Once the court approves that agreement, it carries the same force as any other order.

We serve clients throughout Central Indiana: Westfield, Indianapolis, Carmel, Noblesville, Zionsville, and Fishers.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Common Questions About Family Law Mediation

We know you have questions. Here are answers to the concerns Indiana families most often bring to our office about mediation.

Most family law mediations are scheduled for a half day or a full day, and many cases settle in a single session. Complex property or high-conflict custody disputes sometimes need a second session.
No. A mediator is a neutral facilitator, not a judge. The mediator cannot impose terms or rule on disputed facts. Nothing is binding unless you agree to it and sign a written settlement.
You lose nothing by trying. Anything you did settle can be put in writing, and the remaining issues go to the judge. Discussions in mediation stay confidential and cannot be used against you at a hearing.
Yes. We offer fully virtual mediation and family law services, so you can get the legal help you need without extra time away from work or family.
